The House is Painted!!!!

House Paint makes a world of Difference!

Thankfully it has been dry lately and we were able to get the house painted. I didn't want to choose anything that was too different from the white, but I did want to make sure I painted it something that would show off the architecture. I really like the colors I chose and we are very happy with the result. We have yet to paint the shutters but we will be adding them back to the house. It is always a little scary picking colors on the little samples then painting them on a huge house. I am thinking I will bring in a pop of color somehow...Maybe red! What do you think?

Know that the kitchen addition has the same exterior siding it looks a bit better

I went ahead and threw in a before picture so you can compare the difference. Its so fun to see how far we have come.

I feel like before you didn't even know there was so much detail on the house because it was white on white.

I have some exterior light to add to the porch that will make it look more finished, maybe that will be my next post

You can see the garage got some new paint also...

Drywall is here!!!!

Drywall delivery and installation....

This is not a joke, you read that right. If you have been waiting to see some major changes, than this is the blog post for you! I have been so excited to post this one...hold onto your seat!

So 3 boom trucks showed and and delivered the drywall. These guys were great!! They knew exactly what to do... where to go. It was refreshing! If you have ever had to have any kind of work done like this...you know competency is key!!

Drywall on the left truck and they used the boom truck on the right to get all the drywall in the upstairs

That's a lot of drywall!

I cant believe they were able to get those huge drywall sheets through that little window!
I commented that this guy must be good at video games....Seriously!

Then they wheeled it in and placed the piles of drywall all over the house
I was amazed!

That is the longest piece of drywall I have ever seen....

Neat little piles all over the house

The next day, we had an awesome crew of  guys come in and they started hanging all of that drywall. You can see in the pictures they did not waste any time. Again, these guys were competent and they worked fast!
They started on the ceilings and worked their way down..
They just hung a whole piece than cut the door openings out when they could.

I am so excited that the drywall is up. It actually looks like we are getting somewhere. This same day the drywall crew was there the house painters were there. I decided to wait till they were all finished to post those pictures. So stayed close...it's getting fun now!!!

Boy Scouts Rule!!!

Troop 733

Boy scouts was big when I was growing up..in the 70's and 80's. I know they have had some trying times lately but I will tell you what, they have been awesome to work with. We had been contacted by a local troop leader and asked if we would mind fulfilling some of their service hours. Of course our response was  "Great! When and where?" Well, the weather finally got warmer and we were able to schedule a day for the troop boys to come and officially paint the fence (it had previously been primed). It took them a full day but they got it finished and were are so appreciative for their hard work. THANK YOU BOY SCOUTS!!!!

A motley crew aren't they?

Looking Good So Far!

We even a had some extra help from one of the boy scouts little brother

We will take all the help we can get

All the boys put in a long day of work.

All done!

Thanks Again Boy Scouts!!!!!
